Materials

All our pieces are made of Sterling silver 925, Gold filled and some pieces in brass.

Gold-filled is a term used to describe a type of piece, generally made in the United States, that consists of a thick layer of 14k gold covering a metal, usually brass.

Gold-filled pieces are made by wrapping and securing gold foil around the base metal using heat and pressure. The layer of gold present in our gold-filled pieces is significantly thicker than in conventional gold plating; The weight of gold is 1/20 of the total weight of the product, which means 50-100 times more gold than in a standard plating.

We use gold-filled for the metal parts of most of our pieces. We work with this type of metal for its durability, since it does not lose color or stain. For this reason, we also use it in all those components that suffer more wear and tear from use, such as, for example, closures.

Gold-filled is a quality material with virtually the same properties and appearance as solid gold and maintains its gold coating for years without tarnishing or fading. If you want to clean the gold-filled parts of your pieces, you must use diluted neutral soap and a damp cloth. Please follow the specific care instructions for each piece available on our website.
